Gabo Island
15kms east of Mallacoota and is Australia’s 2nd highest lighthouse standing 47 metres above ground and is constructed from pink granite (used by Tissot in their Rock Watch series). This is an actual time piece, not cheap either!

The granite is very beautiful when dressed and has been used in Melbourne at various places (banks for instance).
The current lighthouse structure, completed in 1862, comprises of large, keyed, individually hewn rocks.
Gabo can be reached by air and sea.
