The Sea Horse Inn is a Tudor style inn which was built to quench the thirsts and appetites of Ben Boyd’s whaling crews and although the pxie.rior retains much of its charm and the museum is of interest, much of the interior has been desecrated with laminex,plastic and cheap tourist nick nacks.

The bar of the hotel is covered in gaudy lino offcuts, many of the chairs slashed and the walls slapped with the kind of bawdy yellow stick­ers usually seen on interstate trucks. Boydtown has come on hard times.
