These reefs have claimed many ships since navigation of the area began and New South Wales’ divers found pottery with Portugese in­scriptions in the aquamarine waters of Bittangabee Bay. Most divers have their own private trophies claimed from wrecks old and new. Some of the wrecks that the divers have stumbled across could not even be named, their destination and the fates of the crew and passengers remain unknown.
