Alan Triggs perhaps epitomises the philosophy of the group best. Alan was a distinguished pilot in the Second World War and his statue in bronze now stands proudly in Canberra. Despite this mark of his service and books which have spoken of his deeds, Alan refuses to discuss his part in the war. After the war he became a successful businessman and later retired to a house fronting an isolated beach tucked away in the folded hills which surround the lake.
