Amongst his reminiscences, his favourite, is an air force memo issued from the Mallacoota base which declared the Mallacoota cafe out of bounds. Some of the servicemen had apparently become a little too vigilant.

At a time when the Returned Servicemen’s League is losing branches and members each year, it is surprising to find the Mallacoota branch active and growing. All funds raised are contributed to Legacy in the hope that the new generation will live in a time of peace and savour it with the same delight as those who gave their youth and life, believing fervently in peace.
