He found his dream at Gipsy Point and on most days of the year Neil can be found, not without some difficulty, fishing one of Australia’s most famous bream streams, the Wallagaraugh River. There’s not much Neil doesn’t know about his river or how to lure the bream and flathead from it.

Neil’s life is a quiet one now and after a day of fishing he retires to his corner of the Gipsy Point Hotel where he yarns with the locals, and even there he commands a view of the lake where sea eagles swoop across the water plucking silver fish from the glassy surface, and the grassy verge of the lake where kangaroos graze calmly in the fading ev­ening light. In this setting one man has realised his dream.
