The poem, which does not appear in any of the collections of Law­son’s work, was printed in the Twofold Times on 19th December, 1910

and the lines:

Did you see us flying all too fast from the grave of the Ly-ee-Moon. ” refer to a ship which was wrecked on the rocks of Green Cape with the loss of seventy six lives. Lawson and Syd. Allan were on board the S I A.’ and suffered at the hands of a gale and had to run before the storm, a rather perilous exercise. The poem ends with the wish that Law­son and his lady of the light will meet again at Eden. They never did.
