A Corner full of Characters,Love of Mallacoota

The depth of talent in the group has resulted from an influx of talented refugees from Melbourne and Sydney. Ken Hutton studied at the Conservatorium before packing up his collection of wind instruments and heading for the bush while the others sought refuge from the impersonality of city life.

Mama Hot began what has become an entertainment factory. A drama group and Arts Council has sprung from the centre of the group and recently part of Mama Hot became Lionel Driftwood and Piledriv- ers for the local production of Dimboola by M.A.D. or Mallacoota Music and Drama. The whole group accompanied earlier productions of The Incredible Adventures of Ernie and the A.A. Milne play, The Man In The Bowler Hat.
